How To Have A Birthday Party For Your Dog
Dogs have birthdays just like people do. I’m not talking about your “dawgs” but your actual canine companions that care for and love you every day. They get a special day each year, just like we do so take this opportunity to give back some of what your dog gives you every day.
Keep in mind that your dog will have no idea that it’s his or her birthday, they’ll just figure that they’ve been really good and deserve the attention. Even though they don’t comprehend the idea of birthdays doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t show them a good time.
A dog’s birthday should start with whatever their favorite activity is. If they love hiking, go for a hike. If they love to chase a frisbee, spend a few hours in the park throwing the frisbee. Make it whatever they would do in their version of a perfect day. The only caveat is for lazy dogs. Get them up and do what they loved before they became lazy.
After your activities are finished you can invite over their dog friends for a BBQ or some sort of get together. I’ve always BBQ’d my dogs a steak for their birthday. I know that not all people give their pets people food, but something special should be prepared for them. It may be a fancy dog food or a bit of rice with their food for the day.
Dessert is the best part of a dog birthday party. There are cake pans that are in dog shaped and recipes for dog birthday cakes. A dog cake pan can be found on the internet for very cheap, and they come in shapes of bones, fire hydrants, and even cats. The cake recipes are going to be very different from people cakes, so spend some time researching to see what type your dog will like the best from the thousands out there.
Your dog is a very special companion that deserves at least one day a year where they are the absolute star of the show. If you don’t know when your dog’s birthday is, make a date up and celebrate the same day each year! Just remember to have fun and let them be the most special dog in the world that day!
