Dog Crates-Where Should You Put Them?

Dog crates are great.  They make your dog feel safe, give them a place to go when they need a “time out” and allow for your pet to have his or her own space.  But…we should never forget that dogs are pack animals.

Before picking the perfect location for the crate according to your home decor, consider your lifestyle first.

Does your family spend most of their time in the living room?

Then place the crate there so that your pooch can be close to the other members of its “pack”.

For puppies, a great location for the dog crate is your bedroom.  Not only will crate training be less stressful for your puppy (because he won’t be alone at night), but you’ll also know when he needs to potty during the night.

  1. Love the story. I got a dog crate for my guy years ago and it was one of the best investments I ever made. Dog Crates are a safe way of transporting your dog in the car, as well as a way of taking him places where he may not be able to run freely. If you properly train your dog to use a dog crate, he’ll think his dog crate is a safe place and will be happy to spend time in his dog crate when needed.
