Dog Age-How Old Is Your Dog Really?

When asked this question, we usually recite the old wives tale that “a dog ages 7 years for every human year”.  Well, we’re wrong.

Studies have shown that the following is how your dog is really aging:

  • 15 people years for the 1st year of its life.
  • 10 people years for the 2nd.
  • 5 people years every year after that.

Now, doesn’t this make better sense?!  I know that my puppy acted more like an unruly teenager at the age of 1 than any 7-year-old that I’ve ever met…
