Choosing The Right Toy For Your Puppy

When you have a new dog you will usually be excited and want to buy lots of new things for it right away. I was definitely that way with my great dane puppies. It can be a little confusing choosing the right dog toys for your new best friend because there are many different types in pet stores. Here are a few important things to keep in mind:

1. Look for toys that keep the dog busy, this will stop them from misbehaving. Toys that make noises or that can be chewed without them being broken.

2. Stay away from toys with small objects attached to them. Make sure nothing from the toy can break off and possible be harmful for your dog. Also stay away from objects with strings.

3. Make sure the toy does not have any sharp ends, this is the reason rubber toys are very good. They usually last a long time and can be chewed without breaking but also are very soft and are no risk to the dog chewing them. Rubber toys that squeak when chewed usually keep a small puppy happy for hours.

Buying toys for your pet is a fun activity because you want to make your dog happy and look after him. When searching for toys you can either find ones online or at the local pet store. More often you will find the local pet store to be more expensive and if you buy your dog from there they will often try to sell you toys too. You are better off looking at online stores which are specifically pet stores rather than department stores. If the toys become broken then its a good idea to replace them with similar types.

Dogs enjoy chewing and it is actually healthy for their teeth and gums so try to provide your pet with a happy environment with plenty of toys so that he doesn’t end up chewing parts of your furniture or clothes! Find out more tips at my great dane puppies website
